Our Junior Kindy Program:
18 months -3 years with up to 12 children per day opens out onto a covered verandah to enable an indoor/outdoor program to ensure that your child has the opportunity to engage in a variety of experiences and activities.
A variety of experiences and activities will ensure that your child has the opportunity to develop to their full potential in all areas. One of the main aims of the Junior-Kindy room is to develop children’s self help skills along with emotional and cognitive skills.
The Junior-Kindy room provides a child based program and curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Interests of the children are observed by staff and then facilitated through hands on experiences, group activities and language times. In this age group, a major focus is on toileting and learning to work and share as part of a group.
Our program includes:
Home Corner/ Dramatic Play.
Creative Arts offering a wide variety of mediums to explore and create.
Quiet Spaces where children can reflect and relax while developing a passion and desire for books, literacy and learning.
Construction/Manipulative Activities where children can experiment with size and shape, balance and symmetry, and develop basic mathematics skills such as counting, sorting, grouping and problem solving.
Sensory Experiences which provide children freedom to explore and discover nature and the world around them.
Outdoor area to develop gross motor skills through jumping, running, climbing, sliding and ball games.
Language and Music Time to further develop language and literacy skills, and an appreciation of singing, rhythm and movement.
